I like to have something extra-special for little ghosts and goblins in my life, so I made these up. When you pull the ribbon at the top, a Hershey bar pulls out. If you have been stamping with me for awhile, you will remember doing this with cocoa packets a couple of years back! These are the full size Hershey bars. We used to pay 5 cents for them (yep, I'm old, and actually I didn't usually have 5 cents to spend on candy when I was that age!) You can now buy this size in a 6 pack at Walmart for about $3!! If you click on any of the pictures, you will see the full size.
Details and more pictures follow. Did you notice that Frankenstein has bolts on the side of his hair? They are jumbo eyelets. They my favorite part!
For the full-size candy bar, cut a piece of card stock 6 x 71/2". Score at 2 1/2 and 5". Lay candy bar face down between the score lines. Tape the back with Sticky Strip. Remove the candy bar and decorate the front. I will give more decoration ideas later. Punch a hole at the top center. Loop an 18" piece of 1/4" grosgrain ribbon around the candy bar as shown below.
Insert the candy bar into the top of the card stock sleeve so the loop of the ribbon is at the bottom. Push the candy bar completely into the sleeve. Insert the top ribbon through the top hole and the bottom ribbon through the bottom hole. Tie the ends into a knot.
See the next picture for ribbon placement.
When you pull the top of the ribbon, the candy bar will appear!
Here are some decorating ideas:
Frankenstein: Old Olive card stock. Hair is Rich Razzleberry card stock cut into jagged edges. Bolts are jumbo eyelets #108432. Eyes 1" circle punch #119868 and 1/2" circle punch #119861. Eyelids and nose and 1" circle punch cut in half. I drew the rest of the face with a black marker. I sponged Chocolate Chip ink around the edges and on the eyelids and nose.
Mummy: Whisper White card stock. Eyes same as above. Wrapped with twill tape #119970.
Pumpkin: Eyes and nose 3/4" square cut in half. Mouth is the tummy of the owl punch #118074. Bat Punch at top #119279.
Ghost: Cut the Whisper White Card stock 8 1/2" long and then put through crimper #101618. The eyes and noses are same as above. I used crimped card stock for them also. I sponged Bashful Blue ink on the edges.
Happy Halloween!
This is such a good idea to give a special little goblin!
